I love the Club World Cup so much that I traveled across the Pacific to watch the final once. Tomorrow begins the final iteration of the good version. After this, it will only the version that FIFA made worse in pursuit of more money… same as it ever was.

Grant Wahl died a year ago today. When he died, his fellow journalists poured out tributes to what a great person he was. I was just a reader, and to me he was indispensable and irreplaceable. His solo work was his greatest phase. I miss him and all I would have read and listened to.
