Immigrants are critical to our society. They’re also critical to the American economy, paying billions in taxes and boosting economic growth. The demagogues who say otherwise are just trying to divide us against each other to consolidate their own power. Don't fall for it.

Read my testimony from 2005, which I republished on my Substack two years ago:

Reasonable, right? This is the type of so-called "administrative state" regulation that conservatives and big corporations have been railing against for years. Know this: All that deregulation amounts to is bigger profits for the rich at the expense of everyone else.

In his presidential immunity opinion, Chief Justice Roberts accused Justice Sotomayor and the two other Democratic-appointed justices who joined her in dissent, of “fearmongering on the basis of extreme hypotheticals.” He's wrong. Let me explain. https://t.co/q7LEVH6z0m

TRUMP: I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody… SUPREME COURT: Sure. Seems reasonable.

So let me get this straight: The so-called "originalists" on the Supreme Court have essentially given the U.S. president the power of monarchs. Just days before the 4th of July, mind you. The hypocrisy is staggering.

No matter what you hear on Fox News, immigrants are good for the economy and our society. Watch.

SCOTUS has ruled that presidents are essentially monarchs who can commit crimes, bribery is legal, federal regulatory agencies have no authority to keep us safe, and homeless people can be punished for being homeless. Is it any wonder why public approval of this court is so low?

By delaying Trump's Jan 6 trial, the Supreme Court's far-right justices have effectively become Trump campaign surrogates.

Alito & Thomas violated SCOTUS' "code of ethics," which requires them to recuse from cases with even the appearance of a conflict of interest. Alito flew 2 insurrectionist flags. Thomas' wife tried to overturn the election. If that's not the appearance of conflict, what is?

Banning medical debt from credit reports. Cracking down on junk fees. Banning non-competes. Capping credit card fees. Negotiating drug prices. Expanding OT pay. These Biden policies don't make headlines, but this is what it looks like when government works for the people.

It’s important to see the fall of the Chevron doctrine for what it is: a power grab by corporate interests, allowing them to shop for judges who will strip agencies of their power to protect the public. What happened to the belief that SCOTUS had no role in legislating?
Avatar
The number one thing we should still be discussing from the debate is that Trump refused to rule out another January 6 attack.

What do these corporations have in common? Exxon Mobil AT&T Bank of America Citigroup Apple Google JPMorgan Chase Walmart They each spent MORE on stock buybacks and dividends, which overwhelmingly went to wealthy shareholders, than they paid in taxes after the Trump tax scam.

Once again, I just want to say that lavish gifts to Supreme Court justices shouldn’t just be “disclosed.” They should be banned, outright. This should not be a radical position.

Big chunks of Texas were under heat warnings this past week — with heat indexes hitting 115°F. Reminder that Texas Gov. Abbott signed legislation that prohibits cities from mandating employers to provide workers with rest and water breaks. This is the GOP's vision for America.

Casual reminder that only one current presidential candidate was found guilty of 34 felonies by a jury of his peers and is awaiting multiple trials covering 54 other felony charges. That presidential candidate is named Donald Trump.
