I liked this album back in the day, but I swear it's better every time I listen to it.
Today is the perfect day to re-listen to Hey Man, Smell My Finger by George Clinton. I compiled a playlist with the whole album plus extended mixes, alternate versions, even a smokin' rehearsal of "Paint the White House Black." WHEN are we getting a box set deluxe edition??????

Hold up, gonna go buy some necklaces on Etsy. Cuz today is indie pendants day.

The reason the media couldn't really cover this lawsuit extensively is because she dropped her lawsuit on November 4, 2016, just four days before the election, and her real name was never revealed. She had received death threats, according to her lawyer, despite never being named publicly.
Looks like something useful is happening on the Nazi site - this court document about Donald Trump’s involvement in the Epstein case is going viral This is a disgusting read

Hello! I have a flash fiction out in Issue 14 of James Gunn’s Ad Astra that riffs on the superhero genre: “How to Survive Walking Home from School.” I hope you enjoy this neutral instructional guide that’s most definitely not based on someone's personal experience! www.adastrasf.com/how-to-survi...

ICMYI I wrote about the importance of being a citizen archivist. We've seen so much incredible art and writing from marginalized people, and we need to preserve it in the face of a huge, well-funded backlash. This is something concrete you personally can do! buttondown.email/charliejane/...

Korean book Twitter taught me this. We publish A LOT—highly literate nation, invented moveable metal type centuries before Europe—but the print runs are usually minimal. So if you see anything remotely interesting, just buy it. It won’t always be in print. Read it later, but buy it NOW.

it's wild that we adopted this moral line but not "wow torture sucks actually" to the point where torture is a mostly unexamined and totally accepted part of Batman's toolkit, usually depicted as getting info from thugs. but man, even 24 kinda walked back the torture thing a bit before the end!!
the whole ‘actually, killing the villain makes us just as bad as him’ trope had done incomprehensible damage to society and i’m not kidding

I've been thinking about this a lot lately both as a writer not trusting services like Google Docs to continue to host the kind of art I'm making and as a consumer who has watched queer media disappear from streaming services.

For folks who make zines, there's a zine special collection at San Diego State which includes all manner of self-published work. There aren't many better ways to preserve something than having it added to a university's special collection.

the difference been pundits who have spent too much time huffing gasoline and journalists who are actually thinking through this with seriousness is whether they think having a contentious, brokered convention is less problematic than just going with biden's elected successor.

If you're so concerned about the stakes of this election you could just... spend the next four months writing about the stakes of this election. A constant drip of articles calling the Democratic nominee unfit is also not a great strategy for winning!
