I believe the MMA was passed by near unanimity in the senate. He neither initiated it and if he vetoed the legislation it would have been overturned by the majority. Claiming credit for her greater wealth is an extreme stretch.
Part of what makes him such a great fit for the GOP base is he is immensely insecure about the fact that pop culture by and large hates him, or as at the least very out of step with him.
I mean, the flag-face alone...
And the preoccupation of a man supposedly running for the office of *President of the United States* with the lives of celebrities and TV personalities should cause at least some people to reconsider their vote.
He is completely incapable of putting any praise on anyone unless its filtered through himself.
