For me it was especially bad due to ADHD, a parent with high expectations, plus perfectionism. 🫠 Things that help: -"just do it for 5 min" -giving myself permission to write a 💩 draft -breaking the task down -asking myself "choose your hard" to emphasize agency -getting advice from a friend

My therapist once told me that procrastination is just anxiety and I should figure out what's scaring me about the work and like that was very smart and I do that analysis and then I procrastinate anyway.

I’m watching a lot of Irish dramas recently. (ex. Michael Collins, The Wind That Shakes the Barley, Hunger, In the Name of the Father, etc). If anyone has any recs whether it’s narrative fiction or documentaries that are off the beaten path, that’d be much appreciated!

Sometimes being an adult is meticulously buying a duvet and then finding out too late that it doesn’t come with the comforter insert inside. So now you’ve gotta get that. And then figure out how to smoothly get the insert into the cover. And then wonder why anyone would invent anyone of this.

I just don’t have room on my plate right now for the existence of aliens. Good luck with that. Y’all be easy. ✌🏾

I can’t explain it but just like The Batman feels like a Jake Gyllenhaal film without Jake Gyllenhaal, Oppenheimer feels like a George Clooney film without George Clooney. I wonder if anyone else has a movie like that for them.

I just think movie theater concessions giving me an open container of piping hot liquid cheese with no way to safely carry it is ill advised. So when it falls on the seat next to me, nobody wins.
