Rain has pretty much canceled July 4th celebrations and fireworks around here but we are being treated to something even better: thunderstorms! The original - and still best - Big Noise with Lights in the Sky.
Would prefer thunderstorms instead of the idiots setting off M80's and bottle rockets til 1 or 2 AM. We've historically had instances of houses or apartments catching fire because of these dolts!
I grew up with Hudson Valley summer thunderstorms and I miss them terribly now that I live in Seattle, where we don't really get that kind of big weather. When we do get one, even if it's 3AM, you can tell who's here from somewhere else because we run outside like insane people!
