We just may have to come to grips with the idea we have a king, like Charles I or James II or Richard II.

Good morning to all my legal colleagues rolling into the office this morning in an open bathrobe, boxers, a stained t-shirt, and mismatched fluffy house slippers, clinging a bottle of vodka and answering every question with “What does it fucking matter, nothing’s real anyhow.”

Looking forward to future presidential candidates with names like “Joey No-Neck” and “Bobby Three Knocks”

Let’s look on the bright side: if you’re a criminal defense attorney the options you can give your clients just expanded to be “take the plea, go to trial, or run for president as a Republican.”

Honest answer: we don’t fucking know. The discarding of Chevron, coupled with the determination a rule may be challenged from the moment of harm and not from the moment the rule was made, throws more or less the entirety of administrative law - the basis of a regulatory system - into flux.

Honest question, how does what the SCOTUS is doing affect those teaching and learning in law school today?

“You’re a lawyer! What does this mean, really?” Man, I don’t fucking know. In the last week an entire area of law I studied was more or less rendered entirely moot and now there’s one specific guy in the whole country who may be able to do anything he wants without recourse. This is kind of new.

Man it just never goes out of style.

Nobody’s above the law. Except this guy. This guy is above the law.
