This kind of argument about schools is a classic sign of authoritarianism.
It’s the opposite of how officials who value individual rights and free society should speak about education.
The hilarious (if you, like me, have a notably grim sense of humor) is that this is all in the name of “stopping socialism”, when purges of intellectuals, teachers, etc., is exactly what happened in Russia, China, Cambodia, et al, post-revolution.
They know not what they do; their understanding of socialism is as an epithet. Their social war is based on their ideas being so weak that they can't withstand being exposed to other ideas.
I love how the MAGAs now refer to them as "government schools." So as not to be hypocrites, I'm sure they don't use govt roads, govt bridges, govt sewers, or take off and land using govt air traffic controllers, or take shelter because of NWS tornado warnings.
I think that when you are quoting from Xi Jinping, you should include the original Mandarin alongside the translation into English, just so the translation can be double checked.
