Americans are left to wonder why a young man who was "relentlessly bullied" in school and had easy access to an AR would do such a thing. In the meantime, let's make sure we say only nice things about the survivor, who relentlessly bullies anyone and everyone and cheers on others to do the same.

Well I'm given to understand that today & for a VERY limited time, our nation's political violence party is shocked—shocked!—to learn that we currently live in a world of normalized political violence, and would like very much to know who is to blame. Full Essay: www.the-reframe.com/gambling-in-...

Reading Project 2025, and ... JFC. There really are people walking among us who can type out bile decrying the "federal catering program" BY WHICH THEY MEAN SCHOOL LUNCHES and not spontaneously combust.

A young man with an AR-style rifle. If only there was a major political party that wanted to stop this. Also, what kind of psychopath fights the Secret Service in pursuit of more cheers, while they're trying to help him & themselves get to safety?

RIP to Shelley Duvall. I don't know how many times I watched her Rapunzel episode of Faerie Tale Theater as a kid, but this scene burned into my brain for life. youtu.be/SyDyBMDvC44?...

Oh, great, they’re coming for Chaco Canyon too.
Very unfun fact: Project 2025 specifically names Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area and wants to remove its protected status and open it up to mining. This is the future Donald John Trump wants.

We need the higher ed media to better describe what's at stake here. These are not "reforms," they're an authoritarian takeover. They're not "bold" or "sweeping," they're undemocratic and fascist. These aren't normal policy recommendations, they're a dismantling of higher education!

3 hikers have died in the Grand Canyon in the past month. Very sad. A terrifically fit college teammate of mine tragically died there 20 years ago, and her story is still told to warn visitors about the dangerous conditions on the trail. Be careful folks. robbiesenbach.com/2013/05/21/h...

this telescope was gifted to NASA by the NRO, which had it left over & sitting in a clean room since the late 90s (I think). What is the NRO & why do they have better telescopes than astronomers? Well, it’s a spy agency & there are 16 of these in orbit for the past 2 decades pointing down at Earth 😬
If you thought Hubble was impressive, wait until you meet the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope (due to launch ~late 2026). It has Hubble quality imaging over a field of view 200x larger 🤯🔭🧪

While JWST has rightfully received a ton of recent attention, Hubble is still performing extremely well & has capabilities that JWST doesn’t. And yet, budget reductions are putting the mission at risk of significant descoping. This is really sad to see, given how successful Hubble has been and is. 🧪

At first glance this document looks like a plan. But these are deeply unserious people who should, under no circumstances, be in charge of anything.

I really want to attend a specialist conference in India in early December... but will probably pass b/c of 1) the C02 footprint of the trip & 2) the likelihood of catching COVID while traveling, & ruining Christmas w/ family (again). I really miss some parts of the before-times.
