My comment was a joke. I don't care for Harris because she is a Wall Street puppet. As unpopular as she is, I think she would have a better chance of winning than Biden. I think one of the popular swing state Dem governors would have the best chance of beating Trump.

idk what my thoughts on Kamala replacing Joe are, but i do think it’s a valid question to ask whether there’s a big enough part of the voter base that’s too racist and/or misogynist to vote for her over ‘old white guy’
She might take some hits from racism and misogyny, but Biden saying he can't stay up past 8 means he will lose support from everyone but his most hardcore supporters, the people who are saying it's relatable and good, they like a president who sleeps a lot.
72% of the public want us to switch candidates, so she would get an immediate boost from that alone. It would show we're mature and professional and not a cult.
if she takes over i hope you’re right! im just concerned that the short attention span/news illiteracy of the average person might amplify the effects of prejudicial biases (which scarily might not be reflected in polling because people don’t like to admit to those)
I'm pretty sure that anyone arguing that Biden would be better than Harris are just self-serving insiders whose careers are attached specifically to a second Biden term. It's a two step move. Step 1: Pretend that Harris is the only possible replacement....
From what I read way over here in the Benighted Kingdom, he's said that he feels fatigued and that he's therefore intending to schedule fewer planned events after 8pm. So not quite "can't stay up". That said, even that is probably enough to raise serious questions. My feeling is that he's ->

Also, Harris is not "black women." She is a very specific candidate with her own specific qualities and track record. How the hell do you extrapolate from someone's opinion of her what they think about all black women. It's absurd.
I totally get what you're implying. (Nice Ralph Ellison reference.) I don't doubt it's a factor for some people, but I totally disagree that it's the only plausible explanation. She has never been popular. The big donors have always been her primary constituency.
So why would her primary constituency, the donor class (who are also the ones pulling the levers behind the scenes) dump her now? It doesn't even look like they are. It seems now that they will attempt to coronate her as they did with Hillary.
