Checked in this morning and the seriously pro-Ukraine conservatives are mad on main. They're trying not to talk about it. One even specifically brought up that he'd vote for Manchin for president. They don't like that Biden has "slow-walked" military aid to Ukraine, but know that Trump is worse

I checked in to Twitter where I follow a few of conservatives who love and support Ukraine. They were both chattering about Nikki Haley being the pick all day yesterday... And there are literally 0 posts on any of their accounts after the Vance announcement - they are soooooo angry.

We've all seen the meme recommending we "touch grass." The grass in the left photo is at a surface temperature of 109F/43C. You don't want to touch that. The woodland pasture on the right with a large blue ash had a surface temperature of 78F/25.6C at the same air temperature. Make your choice!

So of course NOAA and the NWS are listed by name as being on the chopping block for Project 2025. To be eliminated and stripped for parts. Because they have the audacity to report that yes, climate change is a thing and is happening, because we can observe it.

Middletown Ohio is mid sized Ohio town that got absorbed by Cincinnati suburbs. Not a particularly well-off one or interesting one. Not really Appalachian Ohio. More like Indiana. And yes to all the rest of this.

JD Vance is particularly odious to me because we’re roughly the same age and from the same part of Ohio and I grew up with a hundred pasty, squishy faced white dudes like him & they’re all convinced they’re marginalized because you can’t smoke at Waffle House or say the n-word anymore

If it seems like the heat has been ping-ponging across the country this summer, it kinda has. After a week of blistering heat in the West, it’s shifting eastward next week. Duration of the most dangerous levels of heat will be longest in the Southeast and Mid Atlantic including some major metros.
