"look at how the elections in France turned out! you need to vote in November!"
Yes, we agree that a parliamentary semi-presidential system with multiple parties provides opportunities that are not available in the US thanks to the Electoral College and FTTP voting. Your point being?
Goddammit before you start another goddamn rant about the goddamn presidential vote in any goddamn direction PLEASE remember the fucking Electoral College renders 95% of any such discourse absolutely meaningless.
if your takeaway from the results in France are "this is why you need to vote for Biden in November, and if you don't you want Trump to win", then you need to learn political analysis that isn't based purely on superficial headlines and vibes
I’m specifically mentioning down ballot offices in my vote forward letters. I’m not talking about candidates but the governor of North Carolina race does matter and isn’t a lost cause because of the electoral college.
Also thinking about moms for liberty. What I often find frustrating in these conversations is the broad brushes (not from you!) that assume everyone on here is in NY or CA or MA so the populace machine will just work things out
The GOP state superintendent nominee in North Carolina is a Moms for Liberty type who would be a disaster. I’m trying to talk about that race to as many people as I can because it’s often overlooked.
