I had an absolute blast at ICON conference, but I took home COVID as an unwelcome souvenir 🫠 I’m doing okay (thanks Paxlovid!) and have mostly been spending the time puttering around, reorganizing my art studio, doodling, and napping

Happy #portfolioday 🦋 I’m Cindy, a Latinx illustrator, muralist & cartoonist in Philly. I have a soft spot for dense cities, female friendship (and romance!), bright dreamy colors, and 90s pop culture.

It’s so crazy to me that looking back on this moment, we’ll be saying “and then we ran our artwork through a program computer scientists and PhD students made so robots wouldn’t steal our creations as easily.” All because companies are so greedy. I still can’t get over it
A handful of paintings I made that I’m calling my Summer Sweat series! These were so fun to create and feel especially apt in the East Coast heat wave rn. I’m doing a limited edition of prints that you can buy on my website’s shop link if you feel so inclined 🍓🥝🍑🍒
Would you like a new profile picture, a portrait of your family, or maybe something else? Then I can help you! My commissions are open! 🖍️

Not kid lit but definitely kid adjacent: I’ve just finished a 3-panel mural for NYC’s Metropolitan Hospital! I loved working with this hospital team. What an honor to get to brighten up their in-patient pediatrics unit!
I picked up When I Wrap My Hair by Shauntay Grant and Jenin Mohammed from the library today and it is truly one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever seen. So pattern-rich. Inspiration for days ❤️
A while ago I made this mini #comic about how much I missed the Barnes and Noble in NYC’s Union Square when I moved from the city. I still love this zine, but I feel like I now have a responsibility to make more zines about my favorite indie bookstores to even the scales 👼📚
Hi! My name is Jesse - I'm an illustrator, author, and muralist creating whimsical, wonder-filled work that explores imagination and adventure. Heavily influenced by my experience growing up in rural NC, my art is often connected to the natural world in some way. Excited to build a community here ✨
An easy way to support your public library is to make use of it—even if only to visit. We keep (anonymized) statistics not only on circulation totals but on attendance & visits and even on patron-staff interactions. Big numbers please trustees and municipal/county administrators. 📚
ok i have another quote tweet prompt. what's something, big or small, related to your job or hobby, that most people don't know that you would like to have them know? it can be a concept, a piece of history, some vocabulary, or something else.
My partner’s boss gifted him with a monthly coffee bean subscription and we are now overfloweth with beans. What fun coffee drinks should we make? I have a percolator, French press, and milk steamer/foamer (hot & cold!) at my disposal. ☕️
I really wish Bridgerton episodes had trickled in once a week instead of in two drops. Like can we please bring back anticipation and longing as a society?
Hey if you are interested in books and whatnot could you do me a favor and follow @andreabrownlit.bsky.social ? We are trying to migrate AWAY from Evil Empire type sites but we still get about a million percent fewer eyeballs here so it’s hard to leave — trying to boost BLUESKY! 💙🦋💙
Hey #kidLit illustrators, here’s an idea: let’s big up the #kidLitArt community. Pick another illustrator, not yourself, who is active on Bluesky, who you think is great. Share their work below. I’ll look closely at every reply. 💙❤️
