#Watched Kinds of Kindness (2024) - What even to make of this? Lanthimos, after two baroque and delightful period pieces, is back in full absurdist parable mode. I need to sleep on this but some random thoughts to follow.

I'm definitely intrigued by this one. It seems to be *VERY* polarizing.

I mean, it’s a Lanthimos movie. Has there been one that WASN’T polarizing? I enjoyed it.

Lanthimos to me is a bit like a vastly more interesting Ruben Ostlund. To be extremely reductive 🤣

I *nearly* came to blows in an argument about THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER. There was a great deal of shouting.

Did you spin and circles and take shots at each other? (My wife hates Lanthimos but thought that was the funniest shit ever)

So, for full disclosure, I used to live in the Cincinnati area. My friend watched it because it has some truly gorgeous photography. He said "David, I am NEVER going to forgive you for this."

I have friend who is similarly mad at me because I made him watch Sonatine.

I don't know if I was supposed to full-on cackle at the spinning. But I full-on cackled at the spinning.

Yeah, that was probably his most straightforward and least polarizing. Even my wife liked that one.
