Knobs are useful tactile aids that help keep eyes on the road. They've gotten so intent on hiding them and making everything smooth and soft-buttoned that it's a massive hazard and a worse user experience.

It’s easier to fold a map while driving than to interact with the new cars.

They're also dangerous. What I like about my Mazda is that the new ones still have buttons and knobs. I don't have to search through a menu system while driving to adjust the a/c.

exactly. touch screens especially. you can distinguise knobs and buttons that operate things like air conditioning and music by touch without having to take your eyes off the road. a touch screen requires visual attention to tell what youre pressing, and thats dangerous while driving...

Because of costs, all manufacturers will ensure that the computer you use in any capacity is as unresponsive as it can be in that situation without you getting so aggravated that you refuse to use it. In a moving car this is a terrible danger

That's the thing...SO KUCH sucks about the Cybertruck but I don't want any Tesla just because they literally put all the controls and displays on a single touch screen, which just sounds terrible on every level

When I first seen touch screens in cars I said this won't end well. Since then they have only gotten bigger.
