I’ve heard the historical technical reason that arrays are zero indexed. I’ve yet to find a compelling argument for why higher level languages use zero indexing. The main reason appears to be tradition. Given all the errors this has caused over the years, it’s not a strong enough reason to continue.

Current pet peeve: people who can’t handle uncertainty.

The disco doc on PBS is kinda fun.

One thing I love doing when I see an excellent movie from long ago is to read what “the critics” said and laugh. So often they were wrong or simply didn’t understand the movie.
