Younger twin. Third-rate-photographer who used to be okay at drawing...now I just write pretty every so often. He/him; occasionally ina-pro-pro--but mostly showing watches, pens, & weird cameras. "Keep him away from open flames & pregnant women."

I try to be there for my parents' dog's last potty-break of the night--but I was occupied this weekend with my fur-nieces, so my usual flashlight needed charging. Grabbing an old battery torch, I saw the bulb fail as I went outside. Thankfully, Dad has the el Producto box with 70-yr-old NOS bulbs...

Re-sk@t a term/phrase that you regularly use mit your circle of friends I knew guys of a certain generation (born '20s-'40s) who had code-phrases for friends to come in & "de-homo" if they suddenly died, that I now just say what one code meant (for important items): "the porn is in the pump-organ"
Reskeet a term or phrase that you regularly use amongst your circle of friends Whenever we're faced with a dilemma: "Because if you can't go to Bella Noche's, then where the hell can you go!???"

Every time I try to get pictures with my fur-nieces, the situation descends into chaos.

I tried this once before & I was given Spokane, Boise, & Wichita for my choices [3 places I've never bin--or us it BEEan?]...geographically this second attempt is nearer [2 outta 3] to where I was raised, but still off...
Welp. You can take the boy outta Cali, but you can't take the Cali outta the boy 🤷 www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

While I don't do much with 35mm (because it takes me ewig-lang to run-thru a 36-exposure-roll), I would gladly carry this camera thru 72 half-frames--provided that I be permitted to make a slight addition to the name-badging (because I remain a perpetual 7th-grader) #GimmieThatPenisCamera

All right, FotoFolx--my hatred for RolleiCrossbird200 is again renewed. I've never had a roll where I haven't had to fight with my scanner to get more than one useable image. Am I over-developing? Under? Either way, I've got 3 or 4 more rolls in the fridge that I'll be happy to trade for other 127

For 25 years I've been holding onto a bayonet my great-grandpa kept in his garage (after having carved it a dagger-handle, affixed with a bent nail & package twine), with the hope that it might one future day be the perfect tool needed for a task. Today was finally that day.

Even tho I know it's overdone, every year I nevertheless set up a tripod to do long-exposures of the fireworks...here's a capture from a couple years ago

As a motorcyclist just drove by blaring "Thunderstruck," a neighbor set off several fireworks #MuricaFuckYeah

Starting to feel that old-man-impulse whenever I hear fireworks around dusk, altogether forgetting that the 4th is next week...

McKinley was also known for continually having a cigar in his hand; & yet he'd pause as photographers would focus for his picture & say "we must not let the youth of America see their President smoking" as he'd pull the cigar behind him
McKinley is best known as That Asshole Who Stole Hawaii and Who The Fuck Would Back Hearst’s Spanish-American War Bullshit and was then assassinated for being a Supreme Dick, so it makes sense that the orange rapist would highlight him as an exemplar of foreign policy.

I forgot about this delightful episode of Designing Women where both Dixie Carter & Delta Burke appear with their significant others (that Dixie's SO directed!)

Carpentry Blueskis: if a set of basement stairs has one majorly loose step toward the bottom (but other loose nails on the back higher up), is it better to start shoring-up the higher nails first? I may have found the next big thing to break for my parents, & don't want them maimed/killed

Just so they "break even" [continue to achieve surging profits], will Gilead be marketing these injections for $15,000 apiece?

I forget--are we supposed to try & balance eggs on the Soltices, or during the Equinoxes? (And yes, I already know you can just as easily balance an egg any other day of the year)

These days I don't get to light-up a good walking cigar all that often anymore, but in the Before-Time, usually on Fridays, I'd have a nice fresh selection from Iwan Ries on Wabash while wandering my way homeward from work in the Loop
I lit up one of the Cubanos I may or may not have brought back from Canada.

Waited yesterday for washer repair to show at my parents' (never did--this is their 3rd no-show), then tackled another house catastrophe as their kitchen range burst into flame. I'm in need of some happy--so imagine my delight in finding these in my morning mail...thanks, @victoriascott.bsky.social

My Great-Grandma [1908-1998] used this Singer up into the late '60s, foot-treadle & all. It's been a 35+yr dream of mine to get this machine back running, to preserve that link to the past, & to redeem its "pickling" paintjob from 50 yrs ago...& finally the machine's where I can tinker with it!
