I’m still kind of amazed that there was a huge, sustained boycott of a multibillion-dollar beer brand solely because it did a small bit of marketing with a popular transgendered personality.

By my count, 41 different incumbents or nominees in competitive US House races (tossup or lean) tweeted photos of themselves at July 4 parades yesterday in their districts. HOW GREAT IS AMERICA

This election news from England is awful because it’s forcing me to keep seeing the word labor spelled with that awful ‘u’ in it

Relatedly, I have long said that it’s a shame we don’t celebrate the sacrifices and success of the Union effort to save the country in the Civil War. I wonder if that could/should be worked into this. (Separately from Juneteenth)

A problem the campaign faces is that a high % of likely voters have had direct experience with an aging person’s loss of functionality, and brings that experience (rightly or wrongly) to their view of Biden
Joe Biden *does not have dementia.* But I live with an 81-year-old mother who does. Aging gets worse in nine months. Nine months ago is not today.

I’m sorry but every single time this JK Rowling post flashes across my timeline, I hear in my head “ma’am this is a Wendy’s” and laugh with uninhibited joy like the world isn’t going to shit
Has it occurred to Rowling that maybe the man she was talking to was uncomfortable for reasons OTHER than that she was making a remotely valid point?
