Repost w/ the 1st album you bought w/ yr own money They were from AZ, they were on MTV, and their single referenced Capt. Picard by his full name. What was I supposed to do?
repost with the first album you bought with yr own money $12 tape from sam goody late ‘80s which seems criminal in retrospect. why did a tape cost $12

That album still slaps. My wife and I have OUR SONG from it. True story: I accidentally ended up backstage at one of their outdoor concerts. I had long hair, was wearing a tie, and had a security badge from the building across the street. Guard just waved me in thinking I was A&R or something.

Very much in the “Banditos” spirit. Now frantically searching the tracklist wondering what y’all’s song is

Amazing album, but I’m trying to imagine the couple that says their song is Mekong. Or Nada

Yeah, that seems fair

I love this album! The Captain Picard lyric lured me in, but I fell for all of it. Still bust it out every summer. Somehow that’s its right season for me.

I still put that song in mixes

No doubt. My first concert as well (we’re not counting the Ninja Turtles “Coming Out Of Their Shells” tour)

This reminded me that I'm pretty sure my first live concert was the Pointer Sisters in Las Vegas. A middle-school friend of mine and his family brought me there. They had 2 drummers AND a percussionist and OF COURSE each of them got a solo.

Oh! I'm pretty sure this was the first time I was introduced to the idea of a "2-drink minimum", so of course I ordered 2 virgin pina-coladas immediately.

Banditos and Suckerpunch both still kinda bang.

Pretty sure it was "Hangin' Tough" by New Kids on the Block... Or maybe "Happy Together" by the Nylons... It was the late 80s I had birthday money or something, and I was 8 or 9.

They did the King of the Hill theme, didn't they?

Fizzy Fuzzy is one of my favorite albums of all time and Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers is my favorite band.

Heading to Mexico to see Roger Clyne of The Refreshments in June for his four day music festival. Still incredible live and I can’t wait
