I get this and am not at all convinced any of this is happening in good faith. I also am starting to wonder why we aren’t getting live interviews (with non-b.s. interviewers) or Biden at the podium more.
I think the most charitable read it that the news media is having a panicked meltdown because it's hit them that Biden "could" lose this thing and now they're screaming bloody murder for a magic, perfect candidate, despite no such person existing.
It’s because he’s reading a prepared speech off a teleprompter, he’s always been good at that. He seems to fall apart when he has to think on his feat and this speech doesn’t show us anything about that.
Yeah anything candid, where he doesn’t have answers completely pre prepared. I think a town hall in the middle of the day when he’s self admittedly sharper than he is during prime time would be the best strategy.
