we have a democratic mayor, a democratic governor, two democratic senators, and a democratic president and the cops are still free to treat protesters like enemy combatants.

i am just anticipating the grief of when the cops kill a protester and not a single leader stands up to mourn them.

This is essentially true. The whole political spectrum uses the Dem space on the ballot and stunt candidates use the GOP space.

Lots of cops are Democrats. The two things are not mutually exclusive. That's why telling the Left to vote their problems away is meaningless, as New York City demonstrates.
