I completely agree here. Philanthropy is really used in a way to get people from thinking about the amount of money the donor has and usually focuses on the idea of the donation and not the result. There's also rarely any follow up in terms of sustainability of the project.

honestly I think motives matter MORE when doing charity. philanthrocapitalism only reinforces inequality.
