I’m currently reading up on an old Irish term for a person who likes to stay home by the warmth and comfort of the fireplace (a person we might today call a couch potato). The term, cailleach na luatha, should immediately replace couch potato though. It essentially means “divine hag of the ashes”

Harry Potter is one of those things where I don’t care how important it was or is to you sentimentally or whatever. I insist you find another fucking thing. There are so many things. Other things. Better things. Literally anything.

For those not in the know, hanging your toilet paper roll so it unrolls off the back of the roll keeps small mammals (cats, dogs, toddlers, etc.) from smacking the front of the roll repeatedly and piling it all over the bathroom floor. Unfortunately, this does not stop them from biting holes in it.
