The publisher needs to step down and find someone who can clean house. The Editorial Board is a disaster. The Executive Editor, who is the very rich heir to the Staples fortune, has additionally failed. It's disgraceful. After more than 40 years of subscribing I have never ever been this disgusted.

I’m rooting for ProPublica or Texas Tribune's Publisher+Executive Editors because the job of the Grey Lady — and especially at a time when the stakes are so high, when disinformation is the opposition — the job of media is to inform.

It does seem pretty old.

Coming from unidentified sources within the paper, some say that there are deep clouds of concern from the editorial staff that the paper isn't doing enough to identify threats to deal with the nation's troubling tendency to adhere to Democratic standards. More false equivalency may be needed.
