I get why Colm Meaney might want to move on to other things but let the record reflect that I would watch the hell out of an "Old Man O'Brien" Star Trek series. gizmodo.com/colm-meaney-...

Latest results on the expansion rate of the Universe clearly point to … no clarity. The choice of stellar calibrator produces different results for H_0 & all have larger errors than the Cepheid calibration of Riess et al., which comes in at 73 km/s/Mpc, in significant tension with the CMB result. 🧪🔭
The expansion rate of the universe is one of the biggest questions that the JWST set out to answer. In a preprint posted Monday evening, three different data sets from the Webb telescope fail to nail down the answer. For now, the Hubble tension lives on. www.quantamagazine.org/the-webb-tel...

Well, that bit of perspective certainly lends a whole new weight to what it means to represent your country. 😭😭😭 “My country fought for me to get back,” Griner said. “And I was able to bring home gold for my country. There's just no greater feeling.”

Sunspot 3780 is so big you can see it with your naked eye! If you still have your eclipse glasses give it a shot (only use proper equipment to view the Sun, please). I took this with the 5x setting on my phone through a solar filter for my telescope. Another spot, 3784, is visible to the upper left.
