i would fuckin kill for something smaller i can slam shut again bsky.app/profile/jake...
they should bring back the razr phone exactly the same but with apps, no touch screen, no bigger or thicker, just the same fucking thing with apps

I used to have one! Unfortunately it's dead now bsky.app/profile/ygal...
Heh. For me it's these. From the time when mobile phones didn't all look like uniformed bricks

Besides my last two phones this is every cell phone Ive ever had in order (2 and 3 flipped).

I never had one cause it was only motorola for a long time and we were a verizon family 😭 it was all kyoceras for me

see I dont care if/how good the screen integrity is on folding if its still thick as fuck, for me the appeal of folding is its small, it just when from a deck of tarot cards to two decks of playing cards lmao

I actually have a new RAZR (posting from it now) and quite like it. Folded it's kinda like a Gameboy SP. I am wary of aggressively folding it like the old RAZR but have nevertheless done it a few times for the ✨dramatics✨

My very first mobile phone was Coca-Cola branded. I got it by cashing in bottle lids at the post office.

RETVRN (Also allow the Post Office to sell very moderately priced cell/internet service and banking in small rural communities and then everywhere else)

Cashing in bottle lids at the post office for a phone‽ Classic! 😆

that is SHARP looking though, very nice color scheme

just realized you know its a relic cause its a "mobile phone" not a yet a "cellular phone" and without the tech of a "camera phone"

That might be a difference in language between Australia and the US. That's just what we call them.

I always liked Moto phones. They were always so neat.

That will probably be worth something in the wasteland someday. At least a thousand caps.

I think this was my favorite phone I've had, it was so easy to hold and type it was the peak of "lets still have buttons and make it small as possible" but also "lets give it as much fuckin power as we can" like a year a before the iphone
Avatar
Loved that phone. Mine was red. Hated the OS after it got crufty a year in, but that wasn’t the hardware’s fault.
Avatar
I miss it so. The performance, maybe not so much, but dang did I love my G1.

Sadly, this didn't take off. With its x86 CPU it could've been uniquely useful. Add a display port and it could've covered so many travel needs.

one day this thing is going to stop working and I will be hertbroken and cry evertim
Literally running the app on one of these 😎

The feeling of slamming the phone shut after a heated phone conversation.

my brother still uses a flip phone, i forget which company still makes them but you can definitely still get one that will work with current networks
Avatar
My signature move was opening my flip phone with the tip of my thumb. I rocked.

Remember how great it was when your charger was only good for your phone and even phones that looked the same might not use the same charger. Those were good times. At least you only needed to charge it twice a week.
Avatar
Swivel phones were so cash. Helio Kickflip comes to mind. Helio Ocean was sick too as a dual slider
Avatar
I like my Pixel 6, but I kinda miss the time when phones weren't uniform shape and personality of a brick.

Question: do you own some of these phones? I have 3 of them at my hometown, you can check my 2nd bio (4s985.bsky.social)
Avatar
Yeah those are all mine, and all working (besides cell connectivity obviously)
Avatar
Oh, that’s great that they still all yours and still works. Do you usually use them for outdoors or commuting?
