IMPORTANT QUESTION: I have not seen a Cybertruck in person, but someone I know IRL just posted on Facebook a picture with their new Cybertruck. Have I lost #Cyberstruck, or am I still in the game?
Avatar
in context of the actual street next to actual cars max it is difficult to properly contextualize how comical they are tbh
Avatar
darth they are taller and wider than you think and somehow look even more amateurly designed and assembled than any picture you have seen online
Avatar
I don’t know how a car that’s made out of several triangles can look lumpy, but it manages to do that
Avatar
it’s extremely funny when you first see one and realize that every picture you have seen makes it look better than it does in real life

Man I think I saw one in motion for the first time today. Even got aggressively passed by it! Creeeeeepy It really does look like a walking industrial fridge.....
Avatar
seeing it in motion is legit disorienting
Avatar
It is unbelievable how true this is even in the context of having seen this a hundred times.
Avatar
They look very "before cgi we needed something that would look like a traffic jam in a wide shot so our props department whipped up 75 of these cardboard lumps..."
Avatar
saw just this without the context, but haven't seen one in person a week ago for the first time, I knew instantly what you were talking about.

I somehow spent 3 days in SF for a work thing and didn't see one. Thought for sure I would, but it was mostly indoors at work. Going back this weekend for Pride. Surely I will see one of these goofy ass boondoggles?
Avatar
If nothing else, I could really use a good laugh
Avatar
Not many in sf, I've seen them in the east bay more.
Avatar
I finally saw one driving here the other day and watching a group of teens pointing at it and laughing was all the commentary I needed.
Avatar
It’s the taller that always gets me. Like the look like shit in pictures, but it real life they look like poorly balanced shit somehow. I saw one take a 90° corner on a city street and my instinctive reaction was worry it might fall over
Avatar
Living in Silicon Valley I can tell you I have seen many of them and every time it’s like I need eye bleach.

It's amazing how it is the opposite of a well-designed vehicle like the Pininfarina-designed Ferraris. Those cars look better when you can walk around them and look at them from multiple angles.
Avatar
Yup, first time I saw one I was surprised that a) it was that big, and b) how it looked even stupider in person.
Avatar
Side note, I’m not sure that the 3 sightings I’ve had so far aren’t the same vehicle, but the one time I was close enough to get a look at the driver, he was absolutely the stereotype of divorced Wall Street dickhead (we don’t have tech bros on Long Island).
Avatar
Imagine if Robocop drove a hatchback.
Avatar
My hatchback holds more than the cyberturd.
Avatar
They are bigger and flatter and duller than you could imagine
Avatar
they seem not only bigger but also more cramped and useless than u could possibly imagine tbh jeff
Avatar
They’re smaller on the inside.
Avatar
Avatar
I thought it looked petite compared to other trucks.
Avatar
I saw one in Manhattan this week with graffiti
Avatar
A parent at my kid’s high school got one. Even more ridiculous in the pick-up lane. “Just throw that bag in the frunk of our origami vehicle!”
Avatar
they are bigger irl than I thought but equally ugly.
Avatar
I saw one for the first time in the wild today. It was shiny. And smaller than I expected.
Avatar
I burst out laughing every time I see this in my neighborhood
Avatar
Pictures don’t do them justice. They are soooooo much uglier in real life.
Avatar
Given their willing delusion, it's hard to determine whether owners are CyberSchmucks or CyberSchlemiels...

Dentist down the street just got one. I need to move.
