I don't think "Trump will ban porn if he gets elected" is a winning message with the entire electorate but it probably is a winning message if you want to damper the enthusiasm of the already-only- marginally-committed-to-voting Barstool/Manosphere frat dudes for Trump.

In the US online porn consumption seems to be heaviest in Republican areas, esp the Confederate states. Hard to see the through line from owning slaves to objectifying women, I dunno what to make of the fact.
I think the bigger threat is not so much that the Right will go after internet porn but that they’ll define porn as “the existence of LGBTQ+ people in popular media such as books, TV and movies.”

They’ll make it marginally harder to look at porn online and use the laws to throw trans people in prison. And teachers. And librarians. And as many gay people as they are able.

it absolutely is. The first thing they went after in this new push was the ability of prosts to manage their own work&discuss clients online. FOSTA/SESTA did nothing to stop csa, and ALLOT to force sws out of self-employment and back to the pimps, and of course NOW they're trying to end camming.
