Idk, maybe listening to folks who said we shouldn’t support people who defend Assad or dismiss women in pink hats out of hand instead of viciously attacking them as tools of imperialism or centrists is instructive here
Ken Klippenstein is streaming with George Galloway. The Young Turks are hosting RFK Jr. One ex bernie spokesperson is streaming with candace owens and another is defending Nick Fuentes. Brianna Wu is hanging with lauren southern. Maybe now is the time to re-evaluate how the left chooses celebrities.
When your politics are about taking on the establishment, you’ll join any group that will do it if their power is growing. It’s not a horseshoe theory, but it’s thinking that the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
When your primary goal is accumulating power eventually you'll do anything to get and maintain it. I think that's the main thing that makes horseshoe theory real.
Again and again we keep trying to earn folks and they keep sneering that no, I like when he dunks on someone I dislike, and then suddenly you’re seeing him on Bannon’s podcast.
It will get me yelled at to state, but after two plus decades of seeing this trend play out again and again, I simply don’t trust the left not to fall for this over and over again.
They like their scrappy populist poasters and podcasters and act surprised when they're more corruptible by capital than people whose job isn't to wag the dog
Yeah I mean I was a little surprised by just how quick klippenstein flipped but like let’s not pretend these people were uncontroversially embraced by left wingers like great way of accidentally revealing you spend no time in actual left wing spaces by admitting you’re unaware of criticism of them.
The OP gave the game away by including Wu. She was never embraced by the left, and has been a thorn in our side for ages. She describes herself as progressive, but was soundly rejected at the polls. It’s literally only because she’s a trans woman that people assume she’s leftist.
These far left influencers are just parasites living off those habituated to an ideology which hasn’t made sense sociologically for 100 years. Bloody war criminal Assad? Bloody oil and gas oligarch, Putin?
