I wrote Hoover’s new family a three page letter about him and printed 20 photos off - and am packing up a care bag to travel with him. He leaves me at 2:30. 🥹 Last morning walk together.

Only cheered up by the fact Hoover has a family waiting to love him and that I’m getting a foster puppy on Wednesday.
Blossom got put on transport out of state to likely go up to New England/east coast. Got to play with her this morning - I am so excited, she’s going to be a great puppy for somebody!

I am amazed by some of the other folks I’ve met here locally who foster dogs and cats. Some people will take on like five bottle fed babies or those in need of serious care at the drop of the hat. Reminds me of the good in humanity.
I was feeling better about Hoover leaving to go thousands of miles way up north because it’ll be cooler up there but thanks to climate change or something - it is the exact same temperature there as it is here.
Hoover’s last week in Texas includes a trip this morning to Fort Worth’s own Lake Como. Como used to have its own fancy trolley park back in the day, but it fell into serious decline. The city recently added this water walkway across the park.
My foster Hoover leaves Texas next week to go up north to a new home, and I am going to miss him. But I am also glad we got to save him from the code red list for a better future. I really hope his new family sends pictures!
I have gotten into a serious buffalo sauce kick. Buffalo sauce on hot dogs, in chicken salad… what else is that is not obvious but delicious can I put Buffalo sauce with?
As a side note, this is John McEntee, Trump's Director of White House Personnel and the primary architect of Project 2025. On Tik Tok he said he gives counterfeit bills to homeless people so they will be arrested when they go to spend them.
This is spot on & only worsening for many of us US professors with too many administrative, supervision, research, outreach, etc responsibilities while we’re off-contract (not paid) for the 3 summer months. With zero ability to unionize.
I’ve been a faculty in both the UK & US, it’s worse here.😢
