Ya ever think about shark noses? @curlybiologist.bsky.social is studying them! Shark noses are weird (to us). Their noses are pits that water flows through. That water does NOT go to the gills. Amani is studying how the tiny teeth all over the shark skin affect flow into their noses.

Hi! I’m Julia Saltzman! I’m a PhD student in Biological Oceanography at FSU. My current research focuses on marine megafauna-vessel interactions. I’m interested in quantitative approaches for conservation of marine megafauna (especially sharks and turtles).
