Lol, tried everything to get my ublock to work with youtube. Luckily I saw the writing on the wall about a week ago when I started getting popups and tomorrow I'll have everything I need to set up a pi hole

Anyway I expect ublock will win this fight in the long run, they always do, but I look forward to having ads blocked on my TV

pihole doesn’t work for youtube bc it blocks at the DNS level and yt serves ads from the same place it serves video

I just got it set up and it seems to be working fine

hmmm what do you have blocked for YT? my understanding is that pihole/nextDNS can’t do YT

I just grabbed a couple of lists off firebog, didn't pay too close attention to which ones. Haven't gotten an ad since I set it up this afternoon.

Based on my (admittedly limited) understanding of how u-block and pi hole work, I don't see why one would succeed at blocking youtube ads and the other wouldn't. ublock isn't blocking an element of the page for those, it's blocking the source of the traffic.

? My uBlock Origin on Firefox has been flawless on YouTube since I started using it

I use chrome, don't know if that makes the difference. Not willing to switch browsers for this if the alternative is a pi hole
