i adore Old Mountains. i'm coming up on ten years in denver, and the craggy, abrupt peaks of the rockies are impressive, but they're so young. back in arkansas i could drive 15 minutes and find a mountain surrounded by ravines and it was all 2.7 billion years old
That's because they're still mountains the way guys who played football in high school are still athletes. Like, if you squint your eyes you can imagine what might have been, but the Ozarks and Ouachitas and most of Appalachia have serious dad bods.
