@paulhoskisson.bsky.social I think I picked up the noncovid thing you had during Council! Started with a sore throat, bad cough and now voice weird too! How long did it take for you to recover and have your regular voice back?

Thanks to this shit, which returns often useless "corrections"&obv cannot address issues of content/stats pitfalls/scientific relevance, I have lost a huge chunk of income that had previously been a steady source for 20 years. This journal also sells ITS OWN services to authors submitting papers. 🧪

This is shameful- why was such a critical resource privatised as clearly the lack of external monitoring of standards and poor infrastructure investment has left our waterways a disgrace 🧪

It's not harmless. It's not "just an innocent thing" to be fooled by AI. You NEED to be able to discern and differentiate reality. You NEED to know how the world works on a basic level. Because fooling you with baby animals and flowers is just the start of something much worse.

How silly. Rich people are not going to stop sending their kids to private schools because it costs 20% more. We know this, because private school fees went up by 550% between 1991-2016, they’ve gone up even more since then, and they’re still oversubscribed www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home...
Just f*** right off Daily Telegraph.
The charts that shows how private school fees have explodedwww.independent.co.uk Over the past 25 years private school fees have risen by 550 per cent. But consumer prices in that time are up only 200 per cent

Today the one thing I’m going to say about academia is it would be cool if white men academics consider the possibility their WOC colleagues have qualitatively different experiences w/ labor demands and pay, and it would be great for them to listen and pushback against any norms that overburden them

The HPV vaccine not only prevents cervical cancer but reduces the risk of multiple other cancers and even pre-malignant lesions It needs to be spelled out, these are the facts in our shared reality. Vaccinations prevent disease and death and cause long healthy lives. 2/2

It 100% shouldn't be needed, hate that I'm recommending this, but we saw a change in driver behaviour when we got PassPixi signs. There are still idiots who get reported, but it does feel we have fewer close passes now. It doesn't matter if you don't have a camera, they don't know that. passpixi.com
