Twelve (12) articles about Biden's age on the NYT home page. Scroll down for a good while and at the bottom of the right column you can find just two (2) articles about the Supreme Court's immunity decision, neither of which state in the headline that the president is now a king.

Case name is super accurate, pretty much says it all.
I’ve been in shock since Monday AM. The fact the Supreme Court didn’t simply affirm the lower court’s ruling & dismiss Trump’s absurd claims of absolute immunity was appalling, given trial delays — but this is calamitous for democracy writ large. Like Dred Scott, “Trump vs U.S.” will be infamous.

One thing you can do to resist this is to get on the board of your local public library. For most municipalities it's an appointment, not anything elected. Commitment averages an hour or two per month. I'm a former library director. Happy to talk to people about it.
I fact checked this before reskeeting because I did not want to believe it was real. Needing identification to enter a library? Keeping kids out of the public fucking library? Libraries are for everyone, all ages, no papers required. They are a cornerstone of democracy.

I’ve been ranting & raging for years about predatory journals publishing bad & fake research, then ranting & raging for years about AI generated papers with more fake articles, authors, journals in citations. People using AI to generate fake publications & pass it as ‘research’ deserve all the hells
Recently, I was peer reviewing a paper, and it cited one of my papers. Except... it wasn't anything I had written. The title sounds like something I'd write. It included coauthors I work with, and was in a journal I've published in. But it wasn't real. AI is not good for science.

Not over. As someone alive before Chevron precedent, before legal abortion, before many things being flipped back in time existed, I can say you can fight this war&win it. Again. &this time, people have sunk costs&reaped benefits where before it was theoretical. They will feel&resent the loss.

The biggest disaster of the last 24 hours is actually the Supreme Court ruling that overturns 40 years of deference to the expertise of regulators in cases about pollution, drug safety, food safety, climate change — you name it, the Court just gelded it. Even if Biden is reelected, we're weakened.
