Yea, you can take away the forest but not therain.

And will they support foreign aid so these people can keep living in their birthplaces? Of course not. Help them deal with climate change, and they will stay home, make things unlivable, and they'll move, who wouldn't? We'll have money for guns and barbed wire though.

brazil is a bit of culprit in terms of responsibility for climate crisis tho. not everyone to be sure, but their government over the years has been bad for the environment

Much of this was done by Bolsonaro's government, the investment we had to prevent calamities in the south was scrapped, systems to ensure that floods would be prevented were ignored. House after house being sold in dangerous territory, our previous government destroyed much of our country.

Thank you for sharing, I was working with someone recently who’s from the region and heartbroken. They’re struggling with not being near family and friends. It’s terrible.
