The move is nearly finished! After I moved maybe 10 car loads of stuff, the truck got the big furniture, a lock smith, cleaners, a handyman and soon a central heating guy have visited. I'm waiting on rugs (its original hard wood or stone floors) & a recliner, but this is starting to feel like home.

Why send a 40 page document to print, scan and email or else snail mail to someone with ADHD as part of ADHD diagnosis confirmation? Sure I had 2 months of not making it to a post office during open hours to do it, but I just emailed 40 scans up-sidedown 2 hours before the online appointment 🙃

I'm moving house in 4 days. I've moved 2 car loads of stuff ahead of time and packed 2 boxes. Might be a good thing I'm taking two more days off work this week 😉. (I learnt last month that teaching 4 days a week with Fibro is fine, if I don't also need to pack 🙃).

It's Pride Month and we must listen to trans people, black trans people, and show up for them. PLEASE show up for them, stand with them, because right now it's 25 states that are doing everything they can to erase them. We can't allow this to happen. It's all of us or none of us.

just got the go-ahead to start buying queer books for one of my favorite almost-12-year-olds so I am available for your favorite gay middle grade/YA recs 🌈📚💙📚

Teaching is done for the week, dinner with the housemates to celebrate finding a new rented house to share is nigh and it smells like the WEEKEND! (Not meaning to rub it in to people in country's behind Australia and New Zealand's times starting work for the day 😉 -you'll join us soon!)

I love it when my phone pretends its got no signal and tells me its turned off when I try to make phones calls. Related; it feels weird chatting to Optus online to make my phone do the only thing phones used to do 🙃.

Something to consider if you're purchasing merch during #PrideMonth. If you're buying art or books from LGBTQIA+ creators, see if they sell direct to the public! (Again, then queer creators get a bigger cut than if they're profit-sharing with stores).

I'm glad people CAN purchase LGBTQIA+ merch from big stores these days, but as an LGBTQIA+ business owner who staffs queer people, if you have the spare moment to look for queer small business in June, 100% of that money goes toward queer survival, versus a 10% tax write off for big corporations.

This isn’t getting as much traction as it should but the flooding in south Brazil is horrific. Over 600,000 people homeless, entire cities have disappeared under water because we’ve been harming the environment so much and this will get worse as more rain hits the region

Fiona's quiet nature & Linh's bold one were originally inspired by real people. Troy is an amalgamation of my favourite aspects of many boys I knew growing up. But much of Michael & Ruarnon's introspection and puzzle solving comes from me. As does Troy's impulsivity & restlessness. #LateNightWrite

The Ruarnon Trilogy begins on a fictional Aussie coastal road inspired by the Mornington Peninsula. Tarlah's dry, arid climate is influenced by Australia/ Greece, the Urai jungle by South-East-Asian jungles, Cauldron Island by Santorini & the Island of the Guardians by Aussie bushland/ desert.
