Knitting for small people is so rewarding. Whole garments in a few days!

He is a remarkable performer, and very emotionally open and interesting. When I have seen him perform it has always been amazing. And I paid for my tickets!

Finished except for buttons. Should be on the grandson by the weekend. A week’s solid work. Now I go back to the other projects…

The view from my knitting spot right now. I think I have too many projects going. #knitting

This Australasian darter was not interested in the view. But that Canberra winter sky! 🪶

It’s lucky this sweater will be finished today, because that blue yarn is calling me. #knitting

Australians do. My father’s expression of ultimate satisfaction was ‘You wouldn’t be dead for quids!’

Also you will still be wearing them in five years time. It’s phenomenal

Proofreading. Sometimes by the very person whose myriad errors I have just corrected.

Some recent knitting. Just the best way to unwind.

Glad you found one. Here’s a visitor to my family’s beach house. They are majestic birds.

Wow, only one? I’m from the lizard kingdom Australia. I have many species just in my backyard!

I’d back a feral cat over an introduced fox every time. Those things are huge. They have wiped out whole species in Australia and the only hope for some is fenced reserves where the cats and foxes are exterminated inside the fence.

The Botanic Gardens in Sydney has whole trees full!

Most Australians also do this over squirrels. They are practically mythical creatures to us.
Avatar
Yes I love them too. They look mean but they sing so beautifully.

See if you can get down to Jerrabomberra wetlands near Fyshwick. Saw a black shouldered kite there a couple of days ago and endless water birds.
Avatar
This guy? Hundreds of them on my street in Canberra. They will wake you every morning.

Australian magpies are pretty good too

If you are me and only sneeze in groups of 10-15 sneezes, sneezing while driving is. . . non-trivial.

Latest off the needles, a new cardigan for the littlest grandchild. Watching the stripes change was fun #Knitting

I’ve knitted so many pairs of Urth socks. That yarn is so nice on the needles and such beautiful colours. Yours look great!

I have just moved from a 1000 sq m garden to an apartment. But six weeks in, here’s the harvest from my garden bed.

Single line (well, couplet) from a poem that sticks in your head: Regret, by definition, comes too late; Say what you mean. Bear witness. Iterate.
Single line from a poem that sticks in your head? it is alternately stone in you and star.

I have a 45 year old Bernina that I love dearly. I can still get parts and have it serviced. In Australia you can get them pretty cheaply.

It’s a gorgeous pattern, Alaska hat, and surprisingly quick and easy. Two grandkids snapped them up despite the summer heat.
