Despite the crappy Bunnings shelf being a nightmare to put together, the reorganisation of the eldest child’s room went well. We may actually have a solution to her clothes piling up on the floor. It feels more spacious & easier to keep clean (I hope!).

A bedroom storage rethink has just turned in to a whole room furniture shuffle. It’s going to be a long day!

Australian voters - not a great deal to trust here. Return to the LNP IPA and you WILL fall into the arms of the extreme right, corruption and crime that we all only just, finally, after 10 years, escaped from. Dutton and the LNP IPA have NOTHING to offer this country.

We have a customer that only pays by CC, but won't ring me to pay. They insist I ring them to take the payment, then get angry when their bill is high because I haven't rung. Is it just me that thinks this is a weird deal? Why should I have to chase them? We are supplying the service to them. Arrgh!

I helped my elderly Dad set up MyGov on his iPad today. I'm pretty good at navigating these services online but even I went in circles a few times. It's unfair that we are forced to use these services online.

My best friend has a good relationship with my parents, & took them on an outing on the weekend. She rang to tell me that my Mum "very vocal" about the diversity on the train platform & not in a good way. She was mortified ,as am I. I know she has and acquired brain injury, but that's no excuse.

The first 2 woodworking attempts were a fail. Both bits of wood broke while drilling. I sought advice from The Bloke who gave me some pointers, then we went on a Bunnings run for better tools. Hopefully, I finish one piece tomorrow.

I’m using the big girl craft tools today. I still have all of my fingers after using the drop saw. I had to do a hardware run for sanding disks,as the ones I had were wet and mouldy (roof leaks). An idea has formed. I hope I can execute it without having to rope in The Bloke to finish it for me.

I have a love/hate relationship with the possums in my backyard. I love their little faces but I hate how they strip so many plants to bare branches. I watched one in the gum tree that they have been particularly brutal to, & was surprised to see a little guy/gal, collecting bark for the nest.

Keeping Trump out of the White House isn’t the only thing that needs doing and it isn’t enough to solve all problems facing the country & world but if it isn’t done then all those problems get exponentially worse in ways I don’t even know how to express and it scares me when people pretend otherwise

I have no facts to add to this thread, but I’m enjoying all the tidbits that others have contributed. Some could be made up or they could all be true. I don’t care.

OK besides this below and DEVO coming out of the Kent State massacre, what are other facts you have about the evolution of art / music /etc that wouldn't be obvious if you didn't know but, retroactively, explain and/or illuminate a LOT ?
