Hi all - looking for someone to take over the (very small) task of curating the Ecology and Conservation feed. That simply means adding people who want in, after a small check of their profile to see if they're legit. I'm looking to change my approach to social media, and want to take a step back. 🌎

Do you Jack and Meg White ever think about how they changed the soundtrack of soccer matches all over the world?

Look, I know that every June you see SCOTUS experts talking about how some decision or another totally upends the way laws are interpreted — nullifying the Chevron doctrine is huge, and worth understanding

Ok ok I turned it on and I truly believe that anyone except Joe Biden could have done better than Joe Biden is currently doing
I say this as a member of the media: You don’t have to watch the debate, you won’t learn anything and it won’t matter whether you saw it live or not. Have a beer, call a friend, make a pizza, for the love of god, just stare at the wall for a couple hours. You’ll be better off.

There’s a certain strain of thought nowadays where any person or piece of material is “complicit” in *insert injustice here* solely by ~not~ mentioning such injustice, or even not mentioning it in explicit terms describing which opinion is good and which opinion(s) is bad
Maybe I'm a crank but I'm sorry, this is insane

New from me in @sierramagazine.bsky.social — Ash trees are extremely common in many North American cities. But as the invasive emerald ash-borer spreads, they’re dying in droves — and that could mean we all end suffering more in the heat. 🧪🌎 www.sierraclub.org/sierra/ash-t...

Coming up with a list of rock songs where the big, epic, cinematic intro fails to live up to its promise and those where it succeeds. For example: DISAPPOINTS: 1) High Hopes - Pink Floyd 2) Right Now - Van Halen 3) Renegade - Styx HELL YEAH: 1) Twilight - ELO 2) Take the Long Way Home - Supertramp

No good reporter will let you see their story before it’s published, especially if you’re a source in it, and yes, even if that source is a researcher who wishes to do a mere “fact check.” If the reporter offers to send to a draft, be skeptical of their skills as a reporter.
ok i have another quote tweet prompt. what's something, big or small, related to your job or hobby, that most people don't know that you would like to have them know? it can be a concept, a piece of history, some vocabulary, or something else.
