It’s summer so here’s a friendly reminder that these are house centipedes and despite looking curséd nightmare lace they are harmless, eat tons of flies and mosquitos, and don’t cause damage to your property. Let ‘em hang out with you!

I'm aware they're beneficial but also their appearance hits every instinctive trigger.

They can stay provided I don't see them. If they emerge...all bets are off.

My house spiders (and centipedes) have an agreement. They stay in the basement, and I leave them alone. They come upstairs, and they are fair game for the cat.

They are good critters. They can bite if handled, so don’t pet them.

And my cats consider them tasty little snacks

But what if you think centipedes are darlings and spiders be magis and you just really pathologically happy to see the back of flies? 😵‍💫

And cockroach eggs.

I think I would prefer a small spider to this thing. Now, if it eats cockroaches? That's a game changer.

My cat finds them delicious.
