Reminder that accounts with random handles and only cat pictures (with zero interaction) are just spam accounts.
They exist to build up followers then resell the account. Mostly to crypto bollocks. And the cat pics are stolen (obviously).
@catsofyore.bsky.social doesn't fit the criteria John Bull has given - they reply and chat. Accounts that only post or repost are automatically more suspect.
To be clear, I've absolutely no evidence of wrongdoing, but (on here at least) there's no interaction, no replies to anyone, which always made me a bit nervous for the reasons you mentioned.
That's kinda why I like them - they figured out a niche and stuck to it, no getting drawn into dramas, or re-tweeting half a dozen other accounts with all the same videos that all eventually turn into ad accounts...
I think folks send them a lot of photos. And at least on Twitter (when i was still there), i saw them credit the photographer when they could. I wish their bio here explained their process (and that they'd add alt text), but so far i still trust the account.
my favourite exception to this rule is Juniper, who as far as I can tell is just an account that exists to post pictures of their own cat with no captions or comments.
