A couple of booksellers are out sick (1 Covid, 1 unknown) this week so I sat behind the counter for 2 mornings. I suppose "worked" is accurate, although at about 1/4 speed compared to anyone else. What a laugh to work in a bookshop, though! Questions! Weird shipping problems! Loved it. Must do again

From the Belletrist.com's newsletter interview with Elwin Cotman: BELLETRIST: What book are you most looking forward to reading in the year ahead and why? ELWIN: The Jaguar Mask by Michael J. DeLuca. It's climate fiction based on Guatemalan myth. Seems like just the decolonial read I'm craving.

Oh no, Christie's got hacked and my info has been— Hmm. Christie's? Did I pick up any of my supercars (all electric, natch) there? Any of my 13 residences? Part of the art collection? Rare zines? My 400 tons of cocoa beans? Hmm!

Cloudy, but the solar panels are putting 1.6kw into the grid, 0.2 to the house this second. Mornings the panels recharge the battery — which keeps the house going overnight. In the middle of the day our house is putting ~8kw to to the grid.
What's kind of amazing is that we're actually living through a huge technology revolution where our entire power grid is being replaced by solar panels and battery storage and you hear less about it in the press than you did about the totally fake "tech" of NFTs

A friend from a local nonprofit which supports "rural families during the crucial postpartum period" sent out an email to ask people to support diaper banks. A neighbor sent this response. People — they're so great! Got $10? Send? hilltownvillage.org/donate
Sorry for writing this so badly! This response is Not from their local senator! Just some local person without empathy at all.
