March 23 1933, the Enabling Act becomes law in Germany, giving the chief executive power enforce his own laws without checks and balances. The passing of the Act marked the formal transition from democratic republic to totalitarian dictatorship. 6 months later, it was a 1 party state.

What happened yesterday shows that you can go to the best law schools in America and still be the dumbest asshole fuck heads on the planet. In fact, I'm pretty sure going to those schools makes you the dumbest fuckheads on the planet.

So my feelings about the last season: Kaiju No. 8 - Decent enough, basically AoT in modern day. Laid Back Camp 3 - Chill vibes, relaxing still basically doing the same thing Train to the End of the World - Very weird and a lot of fun, highly recommended. Konosuba Season 3 - Good, still funny.

Decided to check out Sadamitsu the Destroyer, a little show from around 2000 that was released by Media Blasters and forgotten about. A lot of fun, basically Kamen Rider but with a bancho, and very good monster designs. A fun show I had a good time with.

"Your Lie in April" was one of the most annoying, awful anime I'd ever seen, I couldn't get beyond maybe 2 episodes, and now I hear there is a stage musical. I think that would be like, some level of hell for me to see that.

AFO was a lot of fun, the new location is pretty great, lots of space. I do wonder though, the convention can't control which vendors show up but it's...kind of strange to not be able to buy anime anime at an anime convention.

Listening to the Anime World Order review of Hand Shakers. SIX years after @geraldawo.bsky.social @inkthepoet.bsky.social forced me to watch this truly dreadful show for an Otaku USA review, I now have my revenge!!

So I've been working on my panel for AFO this week, once I'm satisfied with where it is I'll get back to uploading things to the Otaku Archive again, there's still lots and LOTS to do.

For those who are interested, I will be doing a panel at Anime Festival Orlando this Saturday from 12-1 in Panel 1: "Archiving our Past: Preserving Anime Fandom" It will be a look at some lost anime, old anime fandom, and ways to make sure we don't lose what's out there.

The problem with doing a panel that is largely discussion is I have no idea if I have like 20 minutes of material or 2 hours, so I guess we'll see on Saturday.

The problem isn't that AI can do your job (it can't). The problem is management thinks AI can do your job.

The NYT laying off half it’s art dept as they ramp up the use of A.I. tools is 100% related to UArts closing due to a “steep drop in enrollment.” Regardless of A.I.’s actual capabilities the story being told to (and accepted by) business leaders is damaging the perceived value of the visual arts.
