I encourage those whose lives are not going to be immiserated by the incoming administration to perhaps consider the feelings of those directly threatened by them. Ask trans people or immigrants how they feel about the new, more "effective" neo liberals coming into power. Tina has aptly put it here:
Always love to counter this "effective government" crap with "an effective government to do what?" and you never get a response at that point because they know what they want is unpalatable.
The thought of a competent right-wing government coming in scares me more than the current reality of an incompetent right-wing government. This government's only saving grace is that they're too incompetent to actually do half the heinous shit they want to do.
I would like to personally thank starmer for helping me keep up the storied tradition in my family of having to flee to some new country every generation. Really makes me feel connected to my grandmother
Disabled and chronically ill people too, particularly those of us unable to work, and anyone relying on benefits. Solidarity with all demographics in Starmer's sights.
You also get responses ranging from incomprehension to fury if you dare to mention the possibility of building resistance *against* a Labour goverment.
