You know what? Go on about Biden's age and debate performance. Me? I'll focus on the existential threat that Donald Trump and his minions represent. We all have limited time and energy. Do you really want to spend July and August talking about Biden's infirmity? Do you really think this is helping?

For *years* Trump has shown uninterrupted, increasingly severe cognitive symptoms: he's incapable of linear thought *at baseline*.
Whatever disrupted Biden's linear thought in the debate is at worst intermittent.
Bonus: he's not an overt fascist.
Yes, he may or may not have cognitive impairment, but he's not a psychopath. Point is we have 45 days or so until Labor Day are we going to keep banging on about this or focus on Trump. Each day Trump gets a free pass from us is good for him.
The problem with this argument is that you’re assuming people vote rationally. The perception, especially among low information voters, is that Biden is impaired and Trump isn’t and Biden certainly isn’t doing much to dispel that.
And if Biden doesn't step aside and you had 4-6 weeks to use, would you have used it to push Biden to cede the stage or hammer on Trump. That's the question I am asking.

And what happens if the time is used to attack Trump and Biden has another “episode”? It’s back to square one. I think both should be done - attack Trump publicly and plead with Biden privately. But the most important point is that what you or I think is academic.
