I've volunteered for political campaigns for literally 40 years. And one thing that's always helped when things look bleak is the knowledge that there is ALWAYS something practical you can do to help make things better -- whether through electoral politics or other kinds of service. For example...

If you care about getting out the vote among AAPI communities, you could throw some bucks at Asian Americans for Democracy. They're funding a bunch of trusted grass roots swing state AAPI groups to get out the vote. secure.actblue.com/donate/aa4d

And you can follow @romancingthevote.bsky.social and support their auction to raise money for VoteRiders and Fair Fight!

And in general, you can pick a swing state and volunteer to text bank, phone bank, or write letters. I've written hundreds of letters through Vote Forward -- check 'em out here! votefwd.org

And I highly recommend volunteering to GOTV in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. Must win states if we want to defeat Trump. I've done a lot of textbanking in past elections for WisDems - check 'em out! wisdems.org

I texted for Biden 4 years ago and really enjoyed it. It’s relatively easy and very flexible. Highly recommend.

You know what, honestly, we hadn't had that discussion yet, and so I'll take it back to the national leadership team, and try to get back to you asap! In the meantime, I recommend signing up for Book Riot's LITERARY ACTIVISM substack to stay in the fight!

If I may add one more thing to your list: Be a poll worker! I'm the chair of my local Board of Registrars of Voters, and we are always short-handed. It's a long day but a satisfying one, and you get paid! Also, if you have the time, see if your local elections office needs volunteers or part-timers!

Thanks for this great list!!

Thank you! Hope it's helpful!!!
Awesome! No one should just sit and wring their hands when there is work to do. Save democracy now, fuss later.
