why can’t the default be that you are on time?

This is a situation that varies by friend, how they're getting there, etc. Falls into the category of "nice to receive" for me.

it just feels silly to set an agreed time and then right before say “yeah ok that time still sounds good to me!” just tell me if you’ll be late!

Because a lot of people are not. And with autism, understanding peoples timing and knowing how long i have to wait is really important. I can survive without, but an on my way text really helps the anxiety and doesnt really hurt anyone!

it feels like info overload and burdensome to me though. if I hadn’t left by then, then I’m feeling rushed and anxious for no reason considering someone else’s journey when I don’t need to. just seems like something you can set by relationship if say one person is autistic and benefits from it

Yeah i mean, you dont HAVE to do it. I often ask for someone to send me a text when they’re on their way. But if someone didn’t I would survive. It’s not expected.
