By default, only people you follow can message you. You can change this setting to everyone or no one, or keep it to people you follow.

I’m confused about one thing. In your newsletter you say you plan to make DMs e2e encrypted, but you also say the moderation team needs access. How do you do both?
Here is what I'm referring to. (It was actually in the blog post.) I guess I'm not fully clear on what e2ee means here? I thought that in true e2ee even the moderation team wouldn't have this kind of access? So is that only temporary, or am I wrong about how e2ee would be implemented?
Love that default, Jay. Protect your most vulnerable use cases at all times! I would have kicked it off with no one as the default but then again, I'm all about empower your users to have confident control over the software they're using (I'm old fashioned, I know).
