I was student teaching at Gordon Tech HS in Chicago. When they read the verdict, the kids went nuts celebrating.

Since we're all sharing the story: I was a senior in college for the OJ trial. I remember watching the verdict in my apartment with my roommates. I don't remember the public reaction on campus but it was a weird day.

This sucks, I loved that era of the Waterboys and still listen to World Party now and again. Wallinger was great.

Farewell to Karl Wallinger, the mastermind of the neo-psychedelic outfit World Party and a pivotal member of the Waterboys in the mid-80s. According to his publicist, he died March 10 at the age of 66.
